We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Engineer with a minimum of 6 years of experience in supporting federal agency projects. The candidate will contribute to ensuring data accuracy, quality, and compliance in a complex environment involving both legacy systems and modern cloud platforms. This role offers remote flexibility but requires occasional onsite meetings in Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities:

Develop and execute detailed QA strategies, test plans, and test cases across complex data platforms and integration environments.

Perform both manual and automated testing of cloud-based and on-premise data workflows, analytics platforms, and legacy systems.

Validate data across ETL pipelines, data lakes, and BI/AI/ML tools, ensuring data quality, integrity, and lineage.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and product owners, to understand system requirements and ensure complete test coverage.

Work in compliance with government standards for data security, privacy, and access control.

Support QA documentation and provide evidence for compliance reviews and audits.

Conduct regression, integration, UAT, and performance testing in varied technical environments.

Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and assist in timely resolution.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Minimum of 6 years of QA experience, with direct experience in government data environments, preferably for the IRS.

Proven ability to test data platforms, analytics environments, and legacy systems.

Familiarity with data governance, data lineage, and compliance frameworks.

Hands-on experience with QA automation tools and frameworks relevant to cloud and data platforms.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with Immuta, Informatica EDC/Axon, or Databricks in a QA capacity.

Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP).

Understanding of z/OS mainframe environments and data migration/testing strategies involving legacy platforms.

Previous exposure to AI/ML model testing or analytics validation.
Work Environment:

A remote work option is available, with periodic travel required to the Washington, DC metro area for on-site meetings or QA activities. Candidates must be located in the Washington DC metro area.
