We're seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and deliver high-impact data pipeline and analytics projects for federal agency clients. This role offers remote flexibility, with mandatory onsite presence for scheduled meetings in Washington, D.C.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex data-related projects, with a focus on data pipeline development, governance, and analytics.
- Provide comprehensive Program, Project, Release, and Risk Management support for assigned data domains.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with technical goals, compliance requirements, and federal agency objectives.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, status reports, deliverables, and stakeholder presentations.
- Lead training sessions, walkthroughs, and briefings on data initiatives within your assigned domain.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of IT project management experience, including successful delivery of at least 3 data pipeline or data infrastructure projects of similar scale and complexity within the government space.
- Proven experience managing projects through full lifecycle using both Agile and traditional methodologies.
- Experience managing data projects for the government, preferably for the IRS.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Active PMP or Agile certification (PMI-ACP, ScrumMaster, etc.).
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Technical Environment You'll Oversee:
You'll lead initiatives across a complex and evolving data architecture that blends cloud-native, on-premise, and legacy technologies, including:
- Cloud & Databases: AWS RDS (Postgres), AWS Redshift, AWS Aurora (in exploration), Databricks, MongoDB, DynamoDB
- Data Integration & ETL: Informatica (on-prem), Databricks ETL, EFTU, Informatica Metadata Tools (EDC, Axon)
- Data Governance: Immuta
- Advanced Analytics & BI: Advanced Analytics Platform (AAP) with AI/ML services, Tableau, Business Objects (BOE), and Power BI integration
- Modeling & Development Tools: IBM Rational Suite, IBM Data Architect
- Legacy Systems: Mainframe (JCL, COBOL for z/OS, DB2)
Experience managing projects within environments using these tools is a strong plus.
