We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Business Systems Analyst to support the successful delivery of complex data initiatives for federal agency projects. This role focuses on gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements for data pipeline and data warehousing efforts. Remote work is supported, but the candidate must be available for onsite meetings in Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements gathering sessions for IT projects focused on data pipelines, data warehousing, and analytics.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers to define business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
  • Document workflows, use cases, data flows, and interface requirements for both cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Support solution design reviews and ensure that final deliverables align with business goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Demonstrated success supporting at least two large-scale data pipelines or data warehousing projects.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working on data projects for the government, preferably for the IRS.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.

You'll work within a diverse and evolving enterprise technology ecosystem that includes:

  • Cloud & Databases: AWS RDS (Postgres), AWS Redshift, AWS Aurora (in exploration), Databricks, MongoDB, DynamoDB
  • ETL & Data Integration: Informatica (on-prem), Databricks ETL, EFTU, Informatica Metadata Tools (EDC, Axon)
  • Data Governance & Access Control: Immuta
  • Analytics & BI Tools: Advanced Analytics Platform (AAP) with AI/ML capabilities, Tableau, Business Objects (BOE), and Power BI Integration
  • Modeling & Development Tools: IBM Rational Suite, IBM Data Architect
  • Legacy Systems: Mainframe platforms including JCL, COBOL for z/OS, and DB2

Familiarity with any of these technologies is a plus and will help you collaborate more effectively across teams.
